2009 Figure Skating World Championships

DEMONSTRATIONS OF THE NEW COUPLES DANCES

CASTEL MARCH AND TANGO DELANCO
DURING THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2009

CASTEL MARCH

Although we have had demonstrations of the Castel March during the last two World Championships, and given a DVD of this to all Nations on two occasions, the European Artistic Committee thought it important that this dance is demonstrated once again before it is skated in Competition in the 2010 season.

Therefore a demonstration by Gasparini/Gasparini will be held on Sunday 15 November from 19.30 until 21.30 at the Sportpark Rink, which is the venue for the World Junior Championships, and all Dance trainers and Dance skaters are welcome to come along to this demonstration, as it is important everyone is sure of this new Dance.

Gasparini/Gasparini will be the only skaters demonstrating this for us and hopefully we will be able to make a DVD again at this time. 

We hope to be able to allow skaters involved in the 2009 World Championships, to actually try out this dance after the demonstration, but this depends on time available.

TANGO DELANCO

Gasparini/Gasparini will also demonstrate this new Dance for us, which was demonstrated at the 2008 World Championships, and also at the European Seminar in April of this year.

This dance will be considered for a future World Championship – it is extremely complicated and therefore we are not confirming it for the 2011 World Championships at this time.

Here again, if time allows, we hope skaters involved in the 2009 World Championships will be able to try this dance.
