Clarification of Two Figure Rules

USA Roller Sports Executive Committee held a conference call on Saturday, April 2, regarding the clarification of two figure rules.  

1. Skaters who have skated in a higher division and have placed 1, 2, or 3 at the National Championships CANNOT return to a lower division.

2. Skaters who participate in Junior World Class or Senior World Class Team Dance events CANNOT skate Solo Dance or Creative Solo Dance in the same competitive season.  Skaters who participate in Junior World Class or Senior World Class Figures, Freeskating and/or Pairs may compete in Solo Dance, however, CANNOT skate Creative Solo Dance in the same competitive season.  (In the division which they qualify by age). Inline Freekskating participants HAVE THE OPTION to skate Solo Dance and Creative Solo Dance in the same competitive season.

Another item on the agenda included the 2005 World Figure Team selection criteria, which was passed by the board at the February 2005 Board Meeting.  The committee decided that the criteria needed further explanation and would be modified in the near future. The fourth item on the agenda was the approval of CJ Yoder as an evaluator for the 2005 World Team Women's Hockey Trials.
