December 16, 2009 Executive Committee Actions

The Executive and Finance Committees recently held a conference call to attend to recommendations from various USARS committees.  The below listed items are EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY for 2010. 


FIGURE SKATING (2 items)
A)   Novice A Team Dance is to be reinstated for the 2010 skating season.
    Requirements are as listed below:
    Group I                         
    Siesta Tango
    Pilgrim Waltz
    La Vista Cha-Cha
    Group II
    Chase Waltz
    Rhythm Blues
    Syncopated Swing

B)   Discontinued fourth place medals at the Regional and National Championships.  The FOURTH PLACE regional recipient(s) will still qualify on to the National Championships in all figure skating events as in the sliding scale figure rule AR8.02.10.


RINK HOCKEY (2 items)
A)   In compliance with the CIRH, the 2009 Rink Hockey Rules will be used for the 2010 Rink Hockey National Championships.

B)   For the 2010 season, discontinued the sanction fees for Rink Hockey tournaments provided all participants are USARS members.


ALL DISCIPLINES (1 item)
A)    Addition to the General Rules (AR501.12).  Roller skating clubs, skaters and coaches located in     Canada, which are members in good standing and with the permission of the Canadian Roller     Sports Federation, may apply for USARS membership.  Regional association membership and     regional championship participation will be determined by location, with the club joining the     closest region geographically.
